At age nine, Pauline Burlet was playing a young Édith Piaf in flashback scenes of Olivier Dahan’s La Vie en Rose, and astonishing as that sounds she nailed it. Aside from her age it is absolutely impressive that Burlet’s talent is equal to those seasoned actors. Her latest on-screen presence is in Iranian Director Asghar Farhadi’s The Past. She embodies a teenager in The Past, bringing to life an inspiring portrayal of a traumatized young girl that will leave audiences feeling both haunted and awe-stricken. At 17, her portrayal of the character’s ability to cope amidst the pandemonium of the lives of the characters is remarkable. The Past is now playing in select theaters in select cities.
