Besides being absolutely good for the body, leading a life of wellness is immensely great for the mind. It can boost energy, improve mental clarity and create a state of wellbeing strong enough to catapult confidence, increase smiles and change the poise of anyone. Now by no means is this easy, but for the willing, dedicated and consistent, being fit can take someone from just simply being alive to living.
Celebrity trainer, fitness enthusiast, model and, most recently, author, Nicole Chaplin is someone living life to the fullest. Not only has she passionately made her efforts felt as an amazing role model but Nicole also makes a difference in the lives of others by helping them improve theirs from the inside out.
WBM: First impressions are everything. What’s the best way to describe Nicole Chaplin?
NICOLE: The best way to describe me off my first impression is my smile, it’s what I radiate to the world. I am a people person, so I like to welcome people into my aura and that is the easiest way I do so.
WBM: What part of the world do you call home?
NICOLE: Miami, Florida is my home town and Jamaica is where my roots are from. Miami is where my Mom lives and where my dearest friends reside.
WBM: Finish this sentence: Fitness is….
NICOLE: Fitness is to me, what oxygen is to life – a must.
WBM: What’s the most amazing thing about leading a life of wellness?
NICOLE: The most amazing thing about leading a life of wellness is that I naturally get high from exercise and living a balanced lifestyle. It’s a consistent feeling that surfaces in me daily.
WBM: How long have you been coaching and training others to success?
NICOLE: I have been a personal trainer for four years and at the end of my very first training session with my first client ever, the hug and smile she gave me hooked me for life. I knew exactly what my calling was at that point.
WBM: Considering the number of lives you touch and the people you are able to influence in a positively, did you always see yourself impacting the world this way?
NICOLE: I did not realize when I was younger that I would write a book titled “YES MAM!” and it would spread internationally, but I knew that somehow I would have to reach the masses. A year ago I had an epiphany – I had a journal composed of positive principles that worked throughout my life and then boom, the answer was to convert them into a book!
WBM: How has your passion for wellness created opportunity for you?
NICOLE: Everything we do is about choices; there is always more than one way to accomplish a goal. I try to think of the best way to proceed in every area of my life. Living a lifestyle that consists of praying, eating well, exercising, surrounding myself with positive, wise souls, resting, traveling and networking allows me to be exposed to many different things. Karma is real and what you give is what you get; I was recently blessed to be on “Good Morning America” on ABC. I believed that happened because I put out good energy and my lifestyle matches the type of activities, events and opportunities that I desire. I see them unfold day by day.
WBM: YES MAM! is your first release as an author. How has the response been thus far?
NICOLE: Traveling nationwide and speaking at different forums, I have people tell me they would never have thought to look at their muscles as a motivator. I receive a great deal of praise on the images inside, but mostly the response has been along the lines of, “if you can do it, I can too”. I have two people who wrote books after reading mine because they said they too had stories to share and were inspired by seeing me live my dreams.
